This hop is more about awareness.
Awareness for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome ( PCOS).
September just happens to be PCOS awareness month as well as
my Birthday.
The ribbon color for this just happens to be Teal.
So all the project on todays hop is going to be using teal.
So we are hopping along today to celebrate my birthday (a little late but that's ok) as well as bring awareness for PCOS.

The reason I wanted to do this hop was because there needs to be a cure. By reading this you know someone that has PCOS. ME!! Thats right I have this. My problems started back when I was a freshman or sophomore in high school. I would miss school at least 2 days a month because of the pain. The pain was so bad at one point that my brother in law took me to the er because we thought it was my appendix. Wrong I had a cyst on my ovary. They gave me pain meds and sent me home. I always just dealt with the pain. Lets fast forward a few years. When I found out I was pregnant with my oldest daughter and went to the first doctor appointment they found a cyst on my left ovary and that was the start of a very stressful nine months. By the end of my pregnancy the cyst had taken over my ovary and had to be removed. My daughter was just 6 weeks old. I worry every day about my girls having this and also my nieces. Especially one of them that are already found out she has a cyst.
Now on to what I created for this blog hop.
As for my birthday which was on Labor Day, I dont get much but what I do get means more to me then anything. Every year my girls beg their Nana (my mom) to take them over to her house and bake me a cake. This year was no different. I also got a card and a gift bag with some chocolates in it from a friend. Thank you Julie. :)
Here is my cake they made me this year and it was so good.

My sweet DT sister and friend.... You are not alone with PCOS. I know a few people who have it and I only wish and pray for there to be a cure. *Hugs*
ReplyDeleteYour altered journal book is beautiful. I absolutely love the papers too! They didn't have those papers at my Walmart but they do have great gorgeous papers for 1.97 as you pointed out. Not a bad buy at all! I love the colors in your altered book and I love that butterfly. So pretty! I hope that each time you go into that book to write down a new memory, adventure or bucket list item that you are also able to cross one off.
The cake that your daughters made you is awesome. So sweet of such young little girls thinking of mommy like that and begging their nana to please let them bake mommy a cake! That right there is priceless!! The cake turned out great and I hope your mouth and belly thought so too =)
Happy Belated Birthday my friend and I sure hope this blog hop raises awareness and helps people to understand more about PCOS and maybe you will be able to find a few others suffering with it too that will come forward and appreciate your thoughtfulness and kind heart.
