I have recently planned out my meals clear up to Jan 6th of 2013. Yes thats right Jan 6th of next year. I know along the way things might happen and it might not be followed all the way but it gives me an idea of what all I need to get and I can plan ahead.
I have became a fan of Pinterest. I have to be careful not to get on it all the time or it will be the only thing I do all day. You wouldnt believe how many food related things you can find on there. Right now I have over 200 pins just in food and drinks.
I found one recipe for Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken and that is what I made tonight for dinner. This is also a freezer meal. What is a freezer meal? A Freezer Meal is where you take all the ingredients and put it in a gallon size freezer bag and well freeze it. When you are ready to make that dish just thaw completely and cook according to directions. You wouldnt believe the meal ideas you can do this way. I am learning and try many of these dishes so I will keep posting about my food journeys.
On to what for dinner:
Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken
The reciepe I found can be found
here
This is not my reciepe and can not be given credit for it.
Here are some photos of it in the bag and in the crock pot before cooking, As well as the finish meal.
Reciepe(serves 4-5)
2-3 Large boneless chicken breast
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 cup of pineapple juice (use what’s in the can)
1/2 can of large pineapple chunks
Add all the ingredients to the bag (If you are going to make it a freezer meal). Cook 4-5 hours on high or 6-7 hours on low.
It said to serve over rice but we served it beside it. She also gave the tip to shred the chicken while cooking the rice. So we did.
Here is the finish dish
And now My Thoughts on the dish.
This is a keeper. I have a really pick 7 year old and she loves it. :) :) Bouns if she likes it I will make it again. However I dont think I made enough really. It serves 4-5 and the holds ture.. For a little extra I would make 4-6 chicken breast. This would be good served many different ways. I give this a 4 out 5 stars. :)
Until Next Time
Eat great
