Food Journey- Sept 23 2012 menu-Change of plan

Many people have asked me what I have planned for my meals since I have them planned out so far ahead. Well I think am going to share them each week.

I will say that right now I only really plan my dinners. Breakfast is normally poptarts or cereal. With school now back in full swing they eat lunch at school so that leaves just me at home at lunch time by myself which means I eat leftovers or a sandwich. Just enough to hold me over till dinner time

So with that being said here is this weeks dinner menu.

Sunday Sept 23 Ravioli
Monday Sept 24 Marzetti
Tuesday Sept 25 Roast (change of plan--TACOs)
Wednesday Sept 26 Bloom Burgers(change of plan Roast)
Thursday Sept 27 Soup and Sammies
Friday Sept 28 Eat out
Saturday Sept 29 Fried chicken and mashed potatos.

*sometimes plans change and we move things around and my menu gets changed around.*
Well there it is. I hope this helps someone out there.

Until next time
Eat great

Winner (chosen by random.org) Announced: Friday, Sept 28th @ Cardz TV

So excited to show you what I made for this challenge!

For this challenge I made altered mini comp books. I made a total of 3. One for each one of my kids and one for myself. I will show you the one I made for me first. I used DCWV Blossoms & Butterflies paper stack for all 3 of the mini notebooks.
I used Cardz Tv Stamps "Think Spring for the "Butterfly Kisses" I used heart bling gems randomly on the cover.
For the girls notebook I used Cardz Tv Stamp set "FAQS" I love that set. I think its my fav. I thought these notebooks could be a nightly journaling notepad. On the inside am going to stamp out other questions from the stamp set like Guess who? and What would I do without you? The butterfly one is going to my 6 year old Emma who is a little butterfly. and Katie is my wild and crazy 7 year old. So I hope they like them.

Please stop over at Cardz Tv and take this wonderful challenge.

A Food Journey-Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken

I have recently planned out my meals clear up to Jan 6th of 2013. Yes thats right Jan 6th of next year. I know along the way things might happen and it might not be followed all the way but it gives me an idea of what all I need to get and I can plan ahead.
I have became a fan of Pinterest. I have to be careful not to get on it all the time or it will be the only thing I do all day. You wouldnt believe how many food related things you can find on there. Right now I have over 200 pins just in food and drinks.
I found one recipe for Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken and that is what I made tonight for dinner. This is also a freezer meal. What is a freezer meal? A Freezer Meal is where you take all the ingredients and put it in a gallon size freezer bag and well freeze it. When you are ready to make that dish just thaw completely and cook according to directions. You wouldnt believe the meal ideas you can do this way. I am learning and try many of these dishes so I will keep posting about my food journeys.

On to what for dinner: Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken
The reciepe I found can be found here
This is not my reciepe and can not be given credit for it.
Here are some photos of it in the bag and in the crock pot before cooking, As well as the finish meal.

Reciepe(serves 4-5)
2-3 Large boneless chicken breast
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
1/2 cup of pineapple juice (use what’s in the can)
1/2 can of large pineapple chunks

Add all the ingredients to the bag (If you are going to make it a freezer meal). Cook 4-5 hours on high or 6-7 hours on low.
It said to serve over rice but we served it beside it. She also gave the tip to shred the chicken while cooking the rice. So we did.

Here is the finish dish

And now My Thoughts on the dish.
This is a keeper. I have a really pick 7 year old and she loves it. :) :) Bouns if she likes it I will make it again. However I dont think I made enough really. It serves 4-5 and the holds ture.. For a little extra I would make 4-6 chicken breast. This would be good served many different ways. I give this a 4 out 5 stars. :)

Until Next Time

Latte Love

A second post of the day, Because I couldnt wait to share this card any longer. You can see the other post HERE
I wanted to wait to share this card but I waited until the person getting it got it. Well last week was a little crazy here so am sharing it now. I love how this card came out. I do not have the Cricut Love You Latte cart-- YET.. Its coming soon from a friend. I cant wait to play with that cart and the stamp set I have. To make this card I found a template for the shape of the card. (If I didnt it wouldnt have worked out trust me.)
I found this really cute card on The Frugal Crafter. You can see Lindsay Weirich card here. You can find the template there. I do NOT own the template. Thank you Lindsay for sharing the template. :)

Here is the front of the card. I used the template for the shape of the card. All the Stamps on this card is from Cardz Tv Stamps "Brew Ha Ha" set. <3 love that set. The circles all came from the Close to my Heart Cricut Cartridge Art Philosophy and can be found here

The front and inside. This card doesnt open. The lid holds the tag the slides out of it. :)
On the other side of the tag is my handwritten note.

And this is the back. :) I loved making this card. I even add a small saying at the bottom. I couldnt resist it.

Thank you again to the Frugal Crafter for all her creativness. Make sure you head over to Cardz Tv Stamps and order this wonderful set of stamps.
Until Next time

Fall love

When I made the last card I posted I also made this one. I love the way it came out.
Here is a close up of the saying. The stamp set I used was "Greater Love" from Cardz Tv Stamps

The card is a A2 size card. The plain cardstock is Close to my Heart. Which you can find here. The very pretty pattern paper is DCWV and is from the Harvest Gathering stack. The flowers came from a friend. Thank you Linda. :) Please check out her beautiful blog. You can find her here.

Thank you for stopping by. Please leave some love. I love reading the comments.

Fall Favorites

Welcome to my blog today.
Can you believe its almost fall. The weather the last couple of days have felt amazing here. I am the guest designer again for Crafty and Green. Thank you Tina.   :) I have to say that I loved making this card. I got the inspration for my card from a follow crafter and you can so see her wonderful card here. Thank you Christina for sharing you beautiful card and giving me the idea for this card.

So with that being said here is my version of this card.

This card base is cut at 4.75 inches -paper is from Close to my heart
The mat layer is cut at 4.5 inches and the paper is from DCWV Harvest Gathering stack
The next layer is cut at.. ok I dont remember. sorry

The 3 leaves are cut from the Art Philosophy Cricut cart from Close to my heart and you can find it here and they are cut at 2 inches. The leaf stamp is also from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cart collection. Its a stamp set that cames with the cart. The center leaf is stamps with a stamp from the Close to my Heart Card Chatter- Love stamp set and it say "Inspriation" over and over just randomly stampes. I used distress ink in fire brick, wild honey and tea dye on the leaves.

I then stamped the "You are my..."  and on the inside it simply says
I hope you enjoyed my card today. If you would like to order any of the close to my heart stuff I would be more then happy to help.  :) Thank you again Christina for giving me the inspriation for this card. :)

Until next time
